Dear Friends of Child-Care-Afrika!

With the year nearing its end it is time for us to draw a balance of our achievements and look back at the year 2009. It was the year of the Global Economic Crisis and therefor a year that we were extra thankful for every single donation. Even more so are we delighted, looking back at our Projects this year in our specialized areas in Namibia where we supported many children and their families.

With our 5 Borehole projects we could sustain the lively hood of entire villagers ensuring access to water a precious commodity, not only for themselves, but also their cattle which is their main source of income.

At  Witkop hostel in the south, housing 80 vulnerable children from the region we assisted in the renovation of the hostel. The Kindergarten in Katutura had such a facelift that it is almost unrecognizable from what it offered before.

In Okahandja we started 2 projects. The first one where we assisted children by paying their school fees and books, to ensure that they visit school regularly and get medical assistance as well. The other project entails the feeding project, where we feed 31 families by handing out basic food parcels and hygienic products that will last them for a month.

Our dream and aim  for 2010 is to be able to do that on a monthly basis meaning for the entire year and to realize that dream we will need €600 per month.
With the renovation at the hostel at Witkop we have decided to assist the adjacent school as well, by building a much needy 2nd classroom, to enable them to use the school hall for what it was intended to be, at this moment the school hall is used as a classroom, leaving the hostel children to eat on the porch since there is no other place available to accommodate them.
The Borehole projects are closest to our hearts and we have a new vision for 2010, that is to venture into neighbouring Angola to help ease the circumstances of the Angolan people who are still suffering from the effects of a long drawn out Civil war, with our Projects.
