The children are beeing supervised by the kindergarden´s boss Sabine Kaimu who was equally excited about the project. Since our last kindergarden visit we made some important improvements.
We focused on the structure. A bottom plate was covered with concrete and finalized so the children had no longer to play on the dirty ground. That was a grand reform to keep them clean specially during the rainy days.
For preventing the heat we completed operations on the external wall and the roof. The temperatures often are raising to 35 degrees Celsius (equals 95 degrees Fahrenheit) and the inside temperature of the kindergarden becomes just unbearable, paralysing any acivities. Today the roof and walls are isolated and the inside temperatures are much more likeable.
Certainly we brought also goods for the children: they were very happy about their new mattresses and toys. The most favourite item was the swing which we placed already outdoors. Imagine it´s the very first swing in Katutura!

Maria Baumgartner, our star of the region, was all the time present for coordinating the works and for explaining the children about the changings going to be.
The most precious moment of the busy day was without doubt the party in the evening. All the children came along with their parents for celebrating brightly with our team. Not every attending child was so cheerful. Four children felt heavyhearted as they were about to leave the kindergarden , old enough now to change to the elementary school.
